2009 marked the 19th season of vintage base ball for the Great Black Swamp Frogs, who started play in 1991 with a match against the Ohio Village Muffins. The Frogs wear authentic uniforms of the period modeled after the 1866 Baraboo, Wisconsin Base Ball Club uniform displayed at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York and the uniform of the New York Knickerbocker Base Ball Club of 1859.

The Frogs won their 200th match at the beginning of the 2008 season, and have now played nearly 350 matches:
